Navigating Your Cannabis Journey

Talk to ten cannabis consumers and you’re likely to hear ten different answers about why they consume and how they feel when they do. Medical users often cite pain, nausea, muscle spasticity, or mental health issues, while more casual consumers enjoy cannabis for stress relief, sociability, and fun. Some people utilize cannabis as a sleep aid, while others tap into its ability to enhance alertness, focus, and creativity. Some cannabis consumers seek dramatic mind-altering effects when consuming THC, while others don’t.

How is it possible for one plant to provide this kind of variety—and more?

The truth is that the cannabis experience is much more varied than most people realize

—and factors like THC and CBD percentages, dose, and mode of delivery (i.e., smoking, vaping, eating, drinking, taking a tincture or a capsule, applying topicals, etc.), along with a person’s mood and environment all play a role in determining the effects of cannabis. What’s more, each person’s endocannabinoid system (ECS) responds a bit differently to cannabinoids, meaning that your individual experience will be as unique as you are. There is truly no one-size-fits-all to cannabis.

Journaling lets you keep track

It’s because of this variability that many cannabis patients keep a journal to record important information that can help them best calibrate their experience. Making a note of the time of day you consume, the symptoms you’re hoping to manage, how you feel before and after consuming, as well as the specifics of product, mode of delivery, and dose, can all help you hone in on what works best for your physiology. That way you can make better decisions about how and when to medicate or consume for your ideal effects.

Working with paper and pen, or a spreadsheet, will yield some interesting data points about your consumption habits and their effectiveness. But there are limits to this method. Depending on how often you consume and the complexity of your symptoms, you may soon find yourself with a lot of data to manage—and not a lot of accurate tools to do so.

The Youkti app can help

Filling a gap in the cannabis community’s ability to record, track, and analyze individual consumption data, Youkti is the digital journaling app for cannabis patients and “canna-seurs” alike.

Youkti gives you the ability to track your symptoms, medication, method of consumption, and—most importantly—the efficacy of your cannabis medicine over time.

You’ll gain data-driven insights into what works best to relieve your symptoms; plus, the collective data shared anonymously by Youkti community members will help you stay up-to-date on how others with similar symptoms to yours are managing their own care.

The Youkti app lets you accurately track and analyze your entire cannabis experience so that you can find relief with greater confidence and ease. At Youkti, we believe that empowered and informed patients are their own best advocates. We’re here to help.
